I’m 33 today. Never imagined I would be living in Australia and be warm enough to wear a skirt on my birthday. Usually I’m bundled up in at least 3 layers. I’m enjoying the hot weather (Summer for XMas!) and the lightening show tonight.

Spring in Brisbane
I went to a yin yoga class this morning. On the sign in sheet was written “First Day of Spring“. I didn’t think it was the equinox yet so I asked one of the instructors about it (she didn’t know what an equinox was). Apparently Australia starts the seasons on the first day of the month instead of the celestial first day of the season. In other news; Happy Labor Day to those back in the US.

Really, I was looking for places that would make interesting backgrounds for portraits. You know, for when I start a business and charge for portraits. I find the “traditional” portrait studio boring at this stage of life and much prefer to be outside with interesting textures. It is very cold outside this time of year though, so I understand the draw of inside location(s).
A Few Months Ago We Had Snow
Summers in Philadelphia are hot and humid (heat index of 100F today). This past month saw temperature that are normal for July and August. So, to cool us down a bit I’m posting photos I took in February. Four and a half months ago.
